Introduction	RPS5 protein constitutes a vital component of the eukaryotic ribosome (80S) complex. In humans, this protein is encoded by the RPS5 gene, which specifies a member of the eukaryotic 40S ribosomal subunit. Belonging to the S7P family of ribosomal proteins, S5 plays a crucial role in ribosomal function. Intriguingly, studies have observed variations in the expression levels of the RPS5 gene in colorectal cancers compared to adjacent normal tissues. However, no direct correlation has been established between the degree of expression and the severity of the disease.
