Introduction |
RPL9 encodes a ribosomal protein that is an integral part of the 60S subunit and belongs to the L6P family of ribosomal proteins. Situated in the cytoplasm, this protein plays a crucial role in ribosomal function. As is common with genes encoding ribosomal proteins, multiple processed pseudogenes of RPL9 are scattered throughout the genome. Additionally, two alternatively spliced transcript variants of this gene, both encoding the same protein, have been identified. |
