Introduction |
The human 28S ribosomal protein S16, mitochondrial, is encoded by the MRPS16 gene. This gene is responsible for synthesizing a 28S subunit protein that belongs to the ribosomal protein S16P family. The protein encoded by this gene is among the most highly conserved ribosomal proteins across mammalian and yeast mitochondria. Additionally, there are three pseudogenes associated with this gene that have been documented. |
