| Introduction |
RPS20 gene in question encodes a ribosomal protein that constitutes a part of the 40S subunit and belongs to the S10P family of ribosomal proteins, situated in the cytoplasm. This gene is cotranscribed with the small nucleolar RNA gene U54, which is nestled within its second intron. Consistent with the pattern observed in genes encoding ribosomal proteins, several processed pseudogenes of this gene are scattered throughout the genome. |
