Introduction |
The gene in question encodes a protein that constitutes a part of the 39S ribosomal subunit. Alternative splicing gives rise to a diverse array of transcript variants. Pseudogenes corresponding to this gene are located on chromosomes 6p and 12p. Furthermore, there is a phenomenon of read-through transcription occurring between this gene and its neighboring upstream gene, lipoyltransferase 1 (LIPT1). |
