| Introduction |
RPS29 gene codes for a ribosomal protein that constitutes a part of the 40S subunit and belongs to the S14P family of ribosomal proteins. The protein features a C2-C2 zinc finger-like motif capable of zinc binding, which can augment the tumor suppressive function of Ras-related protein 1A (KREV1). It resides within the cytoplasm. In colorectal cancers, the expression of this gene has been noted to vary compared to adjacent normal tissues; however, no definitive link has been established between the expression level and the disease severity. |
