| Introduction |
In humans, the RPL36 protein is encoded by the RPL36 gene, functioning as a crucial component of the 60S ribosomal subunit. This protein falls under the L36E family of ribosomal proteins and resides in the cytoplasm. Alternative splicing results in transcript variants, all of which encode the same protein. Consistent with genes encoding ribosomal proteins, multiple processed pseudogenes of the RPL36 gene are scattered throughout the genome. |
