Introduction |
RPS27 protein , alternatively known as metallopan-stimulin 1 or MPS-1, is a human protein encoded by the RPS27 gene. Belonging to the S27E family of ribosomal proteins, it features a C4-type zinc finger domain capable of binding zinc ions. Research has demonstrated that this protein has the ability to bind to nucleic acids. While primarily localized in the cytoplasm as a component of the ribosome, it has also been observed within the nucleus. |
